Florence: Day 2

Florence remains my favorite city in the world.  I believe I speak for the group as well.  Another full day in Firenze led up to one of the best nights of my life.  Its amazing what a draw Italy has over people.  Its food, its spirit, and the atmosphere are captivating.  Tonight we went to an upscale restaurant and I was able to order Filet Mignon with truffle sauce which was out of this world.  Linds, Karissa, and Seth also ordered incredible meals and a great bottle of wine.  This was planning on being our last hoorah dinner wise in Europe.  But more to come on that in a later post.

After dinner at Vill del Acqua (4) we moved onto Vivoli (5) toted as the best gelato place in all of Florence.  We had already visited it a number of times, but whats once more?  Walking home we went searching for the Boar at the end of one of the Piazzas.  Supposedly you rub its nose and make a wish and it will come true.  Im not one for superstition, but spot on boar, spot on.  We left the Piazza at the sound of music coming from near the Uffizzi.  It was a acoustic guitarist playing incredible American music.  Apparently he has been there for 7 years and his following stands testament to that fact.  He was unreal.  He played James Taylor better than James Taylor and made Simon and Garfunkle sound as if they spent their entire career chain smoking cigarettes.  Nonetheless it was an absolutely stunning experience.
